Introducing the Revolutionary Social Work Meditation Series
Class 1: 10 Core Values + Candlelight Meditation
How do we stay grounded while doing this work?
Not in theory—actually. In the middle of stacked caseloads, performative meetings, institutional gaslighting, political fatigue, and the quiet grief of watching a profession drift away from its purpose.
We created this series as a place to return. To reflect, to breathe, and to remember what still matters.
What the Series Is
Each session in the Revolutionary Social Work Meditation Series includes two parts:
A short class rooted in one or more values of Revolutionary Social Work
A guided meditation to help ground those values in breath, attention, and rhythm
These are not productivity hacks. They’re not distractions or escape routes. They’re practices for returning to presence, for holding clarity in systems that distort it, and for staying in relationship with yourself and others while doing hard things.
You can listen at your own pace. You can come back to the meditations anytime. You can share them with your students, colleagues, or community.
Class 1: What Is Revolutionary Social Work?
In this opening session, we name what so many of us already feel—that something is deeply off in the field of social work. And we offer a path toward something different.
We introduce the 10 core values that guide Revolutionary Social Work—not as lofty ideals, but as daily practices of kinship, integrity, presence, nonpartisan ethics, and collective accountability.

Meditation Only: Candlelight, Breath, Return
If you want to go straight to the practice, we’ve also created a version with just the meditation. It’s simple and spacious. Use it however you need: to begin your day, to reset in the middle of one, or to close it with some steadiness.
